Forest Lakes Country Club & Residential Development

Terra Firma Development Corporation 2008-Ongoing

Between 2008 and 2013, McCallum Environmental Ltd. completed surface water assessments across the development area (700 hectares) of a proposed golf and residential community in Ardoise, Nova Scotia. In 2014, we became the lead environmental consultant. We work alongside WSP, an engineering firm that is responsible for the project’s engineering components, to complete environmental consultation with the provincial and federal regulators, and to provide all necessary permits to support development.

McCallum Environmental Ltd. is responsible for regular construction, erosion, and sediment control monitoring. We are also involved in the planning for an environmental assessment for future phases of the Forest Lakes Country Club. These phases include a commercial and urban residential Village Centre.

Responsibilities

Together, McCallum Environmental Ltd. and WSP are coordinating all permitting requirements with Nova Scotia Environment (NSE), including:

  • wetland complexing and alteration
  • watercourse alteration
  • surface and ground water withdrawal
  • evaluation for fish habitat
  • wetland evaluation
